Contribution to Culture
Holding this exhibition is an opportunity for everyone to enjoy seeing the canvas right in front of them rather than just viewing a picture hanging on social media through their phones. It allows them to contemplate the details, colors, brushstrokes, and nuances up close. It’s also a chance to spend a fantastic afternoon in a vibrant atmosphere, surrounded by people connected to the culture of Marbella musicians, poets, writers, actors, photographers, businesspeople, and many wonderful artists from Marbella.
With this exhibition, I also want to contribute to the culture of Marbella and do my part. This city has always had a significant cultural movement across various activities such as music, theater, painting, photography, and more. For this reason, we have had great music groups, actors, and writers who have achieved success on the national scene.
I have very fond memories of those wonderful years when culture was alive, and you could feel it on the streets of Marbella.
Of course, until the 90s, when a certain someone came along and ruined everything. They also tried, and almost succeeded, in stifling the fun. The joy that existed in the Puerto Deportivo and the old town vanished, and the youth took it badly. Those were very tough years for the youth and culture of Marbella. They are years better left unspoken, as what came after was horrible.
Fortunately, we were able to enjoy some of the best music groups in the world who passed through Marbella, including Michael Jackson, Queen, Dire Straits, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, and many more.
Many people have been contributing to the culture of Marbella for years, fighting to ensure it doesn’t die. We owe them a huge thank you for playing their role behind the scenes, for their tenacity in keeping culture alive, and for passing on their experiences to new generations.
I’m glad that little by little, culture is returning to Marbella. There are more and more music concerts, independent groups, and individuals promoting cultural events across various fields. Forgotten poetry is making a comeback, there are more painting exhibitions, and music groups are reuniting to perform. It must be said: this is truly beautiful.
